Accessibility Iconography

Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

This projects is a redesign of the presentation of Accessibility Events on Mfa.org, as well as a new system for the backend tagging of Access events on Mfa.org.

Task
The MFA needed a better way to present and tag events with accessibility features on Mfa.org. The design also had to be in compliance with Accessibility Web standards and Color Contrast checks.

Icon and Desktop Design

For in-body use, I designed bars that would hold both the Access icon and the Access information relative to the event it’s associated with, in the same space.

I also redesigned the original Access iconography by enlarging the icons, re-working the space used in the square, and thickening the negative space used in the illustrations, for a better display on both desktop and mobile.
